Overview
Metaceutic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist with expertise in machine learning, AI, and big data analysis within metagenomics. This role will be critical in strengthening our core technology engine, applying cutting-edge AI-driven data mining techniques to microbiome datasets, and contributing to the development of personalized healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize AI and machine learning algorithms for microbiome data interpretation.
- Implement big data analytics pipelines to process large-scale metagenomics datasets efficiently.
- Design and refine predictive models for microbiome-health associations.
- Work closely with bioinformaticians, systems biologists, and software engineers to integrate AI-driven insights into Metaceutic’s data analysis platform.
- Apply deep learning, statistical modeling, and pattern recognition to identify novel microbiome-based biomarkers and interventions.
- Contribute to scientific publications, patents, and conferences in microbiome research.
- Collaborate with the business team to translate scientific insights into commercial applications for healthcare and biotech partners.
Needed Qualifications
- PhD or MSc in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Strong coding experience in Python, R, or similar with experience in machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience working with metagenomic sequencing data (16S, shotgun metagenomics) and bioinformatics tools.
- Proven experience in big data analysis and cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Expertise in statistical modeling, deep learning, and AI for biological data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Prior experience in healthcare, microbiome science, or systems biology is a plus.
